Like Robb’s first book, Midnight in Sicily, this is a mixture of travel, history, culture and personal experience. It is based on extended visits over a period of twenty years, and while a consideration of many aspects of Brazilian history and culture, its core is the unsolved murder of a former presidential bagman and his lover, and what that event might tell us about one of the world’s strangest and greatest countries.
Peter Robb was born in Melbourne and lives in Sydney. His books have been published in many countries and received many awards. Duffy & Snellgrove also publishes Midnight in Sicily, M, and Pig’s Blood and Other Fluids, a collection of crime novellas available only as an ebook.
